Date a girl who breathes literature

"What is it that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the print I have read in my life."- Walt Whitman

Walt Whitman caught the essence of it-the essence of the enigmatic breed of Ladies who breathe Literature.Oh!You've seen them at quaint little cafes savouring their coffee whilst scribbling their musings on tissues! They never travel without a book or two tucked away in their bags. You've seen the little girl in them emerge as they jump around in puddles amidst refreshing showers of rain,or watched their eyes light up at the sight of chocolate, fine food and wine or while reading between the lines of the lyrics of a song;been bewitched by their heady mix of beauty, brain and brawn! You just can't seem to put your finger on what makes them so appealing and attractive? Is it their sheer elegance and simplicity that comes off as sophistication?Or is it the grace with which they play the hand that they have been dealt? Is it their haunting and under-stated charisma?Or is it how these strong women just have that air of a dainty fairy that needs to be held close and protected from the world?

As I belong to this aforementioned rare breed of women (frankly,I just described myself in the above lines.Oh!How sly, indeed!),I qualify to give you a tiny peek into your world lads,if you were to be lucky enough to date one of us.So,what will she be like?

An avid reader and a writer-She will be intense, optimistic, passionate and dreamy. She will want her Man to notice and love her for the things that the common eye cannot see.

You will discover facets of your personality that you never even knew existed!
There will be an unexplainable spring in your step and a clandestine smile shall play on your lips as you realise that she brings William Blake to life as she quotes:

"To see a World in a grain of sand.
And Heaven in a Wild flower.
To hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour."

Having started her journey at Wonderland, spent many-a-summers at Hogwarts to finally arrive at Westeros, the journey would have infused her with lots of perception. One cannot but be sentient when one has the distilled essence of stories running in their bloodstream.
So every tiny gesture of yours is taken into account,EVERY tiny one (Yes,even you grooming yourself up in the shirt that she off-handedly mentioned that she liked,to you ordering her favourite food in the hope that she will notice it and perhaps, take a bite,to you quoting her favourite author, having secretly brushed up to impress her doesn't go unnoticed).
So,no pressure of grandeur. She loves it when you keep things simple-a coffee followed by a stroll in the enchanting evening air will do.More than anything, all she craves is your Respect and your Time.

All of her stuff and the people in her life will have appellations and monikers. It's just the way she is.
(Yes,her phone and her blanket will have names too)
She will fill her room with famous quotes and inspiring poems and will find solace amongst centuries of the Written Word (She,just like Hermoine Granger believes--When in doubt,go to the library.)

She will be devoid of unnecessary melodrama (for the most part) leaving you wondering if she indeed belongs to the same species of women as the rest. At her indignant best, she will amuse you! But,beware, hell hath no fury like this woman scorned! (Remember,Gone Girl?)

She will be fiercely virtuous and will look for a man with a code.
No,she doesn't dig looks or money but a sound character and a heart of gold!
Oh yeah! She WILL correct your grammar! And needless to say, will often be a nerd.
She will be a "Walking Thesaurus" and will use flamboyant and impeccable language and you will end up falling for her every bit more for that.

A sapiosexual, great listener and conversationalist, because, let's face it,there is nothing more erotic than a good conversation. You can talk about anything and everything, quite literally. As they say,"There are people who read War and Peace and come out learning nothing whilst others read the back of a bubble-gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe."
So yeah, she wants a man who can enchant her with the universe and the ingredients that go into making chewing gums alike.

And you will always be curious to know how her magical mind comprehended just about anything, which is more, you will always respect her opinion. She will ensure that you do.
Conversely, you will find that you can sit with her in silence and still walk away feeling like you have had the best conversation.

You will learn the secret behind Trust, for the only way to get her to lower her guard will be to lower your own.And you will find that it is completely natural to be vulnerable to her because you know in your heart that she is utterly loyal and trustworthy. She is like the sea, filled with secrets and mysteries.

She understands the concept of space and will undoubtedly give you yours. You needn't update her every moment of everyday, she respects that you have a life just like she has her own.So you are left undisturbed during sport matches, boys' days out and exams.
Did I mention that she values your family and will coax you to spend quality time with them?

You will find her reading Pride and Prejudice or Wuthering heights time and again just to satisfy her crushes on Mr.Darcy and Heathcliff. She will love Augustus Waters and will cry her heart out while reading The Fault in our Stars.
You will naturally be pitted against these gentlemen as you find yourself desperately wishing for a time machine to go back in time and kill these buggers.

She takes the concept of "The Muse and the Bard" very seriously. She will adorn both the roles intermittently. She will yearn to inspire you,to move you. No,she doesn't expect you to evolve into Shakespeare or Da vinci (bonus points if you do though) but would rather wish to motivate you to be the best you can be.She will bring out the best in you and boy,if you could see yourself through her eyes,it would put the stars to shame.

Having grown up with role models like Elizabeth Bennet,Nancy Drew and Hermoine Granger;she will always hold her own.Just let her have the last word or you won't hear the end of it. (not always though. She despises pushovers)

She will love to travel and explore, wanting to live the stories she grew up with. She is innovative, never tepid and won't shy away from trying something new. (if you know what I mean)

You will be the apple of her eye,the object of her affection, the centre of her heart;though she may not say it out loud and often.

She will define Love as,"An undying commitment to an imperfect person. It is more than a strong feeling. It is a judgement, decision and a promise."
She is made to be courted and loved deeply and will only commit when she knows the relationship is steady. She will choose her man like an eagle chooses its mate, tests him over and over again until she is absolutely certain. But once she does step into a relationship with you, rest assured,it will never end.It is beneath her to cheat or give up without a fight, she knows that nothing worth having comes easy. And love, true love,is never shed so easily. She will adore you, respect, love and behold you like the treasure that you are (often leading you to wonder just what you did to deserve her). Then again,we accept the love we think we deserve.

She won't care too much about similar interests and passions because she knows that every relationship is sustained by consistent effort.
To her,the "Right Guy" is the one she can relate to while she quotes Emily Bronte as saying,"Whatever our souls are made of,His and Mine are the same."

So,go ahead and fall in love with a Girl who breathes Literature and watch as everyday is turned into an adventure. You will find yourself coveting her and you, just like Mr.Darcy will say,"You have bewitched me,body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you."

P.S: This long post still doesn't cover everything.Perhaps I am too poetic for my own good.
Eh!Que sera sera.
