You are my Exception!

"Seldom,Love is hidden under the veils of Hatred."

I just got off the phone after a long conversation with my best friend. We were catching up again after what seemed like eternity and hence poured our little hearts out.And amidst a lot of giggles and sighs, she shared something with me that I had least expected. She told me about the "Hero" in her life.Though I sensed some secret pain,I let her get everything off her chest. Her story made me smile and moved my heart.*Sigh*...that thing called "First Love"!And hence with her permission and all due respect,I intend to share her story-
Well, the "Heroine" (my friend),being the smart lass that she is,passed her board exams with flying colours and joined a reputed college. And apparently, the hero was her senior,a guy she detested from the very beginning. She just HATED him!A truck load of shit about the guy was going around and that was more than sufficient for her to keep him at the farthest distance...
But she just could not get over the fact that there was something very intriguing about him.Being a woman of Perception, all she could figure out was masked pain in his aura...But that didn't fit the bill, for he appeared to be the "Happy go Lucky sort"...Loved by many for his friendly countenance, hated by a few and ignored by fewer. She was rather disappointed that she could not read him like she could read the rest.He was...Different!Unpredictable!
Just about here,Destiny decided to wade through...She encountered a situation where he owned up and apologised for a small thing, like using profanity in front of women;something that other men would normally brush aside as very trivial...That gave her the insight that he might not be a bad guy after all...
Then, they acquainted each other and got to know each other really well (At least they gave each other a chance to).The roots of their bond went really deep, one that could never be shaken...Forever!Somehow,he managed to light up her life...With him,she did not have to explain everything all the time,he would just get it,he would just understand. She ended up rendering a Deep Respect for him!She tried her best to support him in every way she could,to motivate, inspire and push him to do better;and to ease atleast a little bit of his unspoken pain! She wants to keep trying that though...for eternity...
She remembers that evening...when she realised what he actually meant to her, where her heart had taken this to;She cried for she Loved him deeply! He was her Exception! But she could never have him!She knew that this would screw her life;she did not want it to sabotage their friendship, for she knew that it was almost impossible for things to fall into place, but their relationship was Priceless! She didn't utter a word about it to him.He found out about it eventually anyway, and after the initial awkwardness, they still are the best of friends!
She tries to hide her smirk as she describes him to me-A Man of strange Contradictions. How he manages to be a perfect gentleman and a total jerk, and carries it off with elan! How at one point he can be the guy who couldn't care more and then becomes the guy who couldn't care less!He is genuine yet judgemental! How His embrace makes her feel extremely safe yet vulnerable at the same time! How he manages to make her laugh and cry at the end of the day!How she can never lie to him,not even over a text message! How he manages to read her mind through her eyes..always knows when she is in pain and is there for her!The Perfect Epitome of Friendship!!...And I knew right then that She would always Love Him!!But I understood that she knew extremely well that she had to let him go...for good!
By the end of her story,it was late.We said our sombre goodbyes and a thought flashed across my mind-"Never Belittle Love,be it in any form, any way".As they say,First Love is really 'Precious'!

P.S: I am only someone who loves to write. And it is said that a writer lives a thousand lives before he dies-in his stories,in the world he creates. The above is just one of them, with more than an iota of truth.
